IFAD VACANCIES NOV 2013

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized United Nations agency dedicated to eradicating rural poverty and hunger. It does so by financing programmes and projects that increase agricultural productivity and raise rural incomes, and by advocating at the local, national and international level for policies that enable poor rural people to overcome poverty.
IFAD is looking for professionals with strategic vision, a solid team orientation, proven capacity to generate results, and a deep understanding of and commitment to development. IFAD is currently seeking to recruit:
• Regional Economist, West and Central Africa Division (WCA) (P-5): As a key member of the regional team, the incumbent will work closely with country teams in the development of strategies and approaches; and provide support in improving project design and implementation to enhance IFAD’s impact on poverty reduction in the region.
• Portfolio Adviser, East and Southern Africa Division (ESA) (P-5): Under the direct supervision of the Director ESA, the Portfolio Adviser will advise and support Country Programme Managers for effective country programme management.
• Agricultural Economist/Research Officer, Development Studies and Statistics Division (SSD) (P-4): Under the general supervision of the Director SSD and in close cooperation with other divisions, including the Independent Office of the Evaluation, the incumbent will coordinate and manage corporate initiatives on identifying, adapting and mainstreaming state-of-the-art methods in agricultural economics analysis, in order to enhance IFAD’s poverty analysis, impact evaluation and metrics of rural poverty and rural transformation.
IFAD offers a competitive remuneration and benefits package that includes a tax-free salary, dependency allowance, education grant up to university level, medical and group life insurance, home leave and pension plan.
IFAD is committed to achieving diversity and is seeking a balanced workforce from IFAD’s Member States. Women are particularly encouraged to apply.
