About the role

You will shape the landscape of the country as you identify and screen potential projects for the UK Guarantees Scheme. This high profile role will include making recommendations to ministers on the commercial viability of projects, overseeing the due diligence process, and leading the negotiation of commercial terms with developers, contractors, and other creditors.

You’ll also use your exceptional communication and analytical skills to prepare reports for the UK Guarantees Risk Committee on the risks proposed by the proposed projects and how these risks can be mitigated. Providing ad hoc support for other policy initiatives will enable you to further broaden your horizons.

About the individual

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the ability to take the lead financial role in housing finance transactions. So you’ll be qualified to degree level with a proven track record of lending to or providing financial guarantees to companies for private housing developments for sale or rental.

Experience of working in or with the public sector or in financing social housing would be desirable, as would knowledge of bond and bank documentation. Your thorough understanding of the due diligence and legal documentation requirements associated with housing financing will ensure we achieve our objectives.
