Plan is a child-centred community development organisation: we work with children,their families, communities, organisations and local governments to bring about positive change in 50 developing countries. Plan's work is linked to the United Nations Conventionon the Rights of the Child, which spells out the human rights of all children. Plan Nederland is member of the Plan International network and one of its tasks is to raise funds on the private, corporate and institutional markets.
For our department Institutional & Corporate Partnerships, we are looking for a:

Institutional Partnerships Officer (32 hrs)

Position in the organization
Accountable and reporting to the manager Institutional & Corporate Partnerships.

Purpose of the function
Resource mobilization for the projects of Plan International among institutional donors such as the Dutch government, European Commission and/or multilateral institutions (UN bodies). As an Institutional Partnerships Officer you are responsible for identifying Calls for Proposals and coordinating development of project proposals, in close cooperation with our Thematic Advisors and colleagues in the Country Offices.

Result Areas
  • Identify trends and developments among institutional donors and pursue funding opportunities for Plan's projects.
  • Identify, develop and edit high quality proposals to be submitted for institutional funding, often in collaboration with a project team consisting of thematic experts from the Plan Nederland office and Country Offices.
  • Monitor donor compliance during the implementation of the grant-funded projects and manage the relationship with our institutional donors. Our colleagues at the Country Offices are responsible for implementation; our Thematic Advisors monitor PME and provide technical support.
  • Build capacity within the Plan International organization on proposal development and writing.
  • Participate in network meetings both in and outside the Plan International organization. 
Knowledge and experience
  • Relevant university-level degree in specific topics of expertise in the field of development.
  • At least 8 years' experience in the Development Cooperation sector, of which at least 5 years' experience in resource mobilization with demonstrable results. Experienced in writing proposals.
  • English and Dutch fluently spoken and written. Spanish and / or French is a plus.

Personal Profile
You are an expert in writing bid-winning proposals with the aim of raising funds among institutional donors. You are an experienced proposal writer with a passion for and experience in development work. You are able to perform under pressure.
Internal contacts
The team Institutional & Corporate Partnerships and the Program Development and Management team form the International Program Department of Plan Nederland. You will work closely together with the Program Development and Management team.
External links
Within the Plan International network you will work together with the Plan offices in the developing countries which make up Plan Nederland's "core countries".
