Production Technologist
Location: Pune, India
Role :
To produce, manufacture part to the required specs following the guidelines of the SOP and to program and set-up the machines as per set procedures. Following the instructions of the supervisors and maintain a good mode of conduct
Key Performance Areas:
- Achieve the agreed targets on Production, Quality, Productivity and TCT(Total Cycle Time) & TMT(Total Mfg.Time) with Cell Manager/ Production Leader. ;
- Work towards improvements in the methods related to production and In process inspection in line with the Department's quality system with the objective of Improvements in quality and productivity.
- Programming & Proving of Products on CNC and other machines according to directives & norms
- Absorption of new technologies introduced in manufacturing by working on the CNC machines and set productivity norms with them.
- Assist in Preventive maintenance of CNC machines and involvement in the breakdown maintenance of respective CNC machines ,in presence of Engineering services personnel.
- Ensure conformance to Safety Practices on shop floor, with Preventive Maintenance of CNC machines.
- Support the adherence of all employees to the Sandvik platform for the way of doing business expressed in "The Power of Sandvik".
- Follow the QMS and EHS while working
Your Profile:
- ITI or Technical trade school certification
- Minimum of 3 to 6 years of experience with programming of Swiss type Sliding head m/c's / Multi Axis Lathes / Multi Axis VMC
- Must have extensive 3 to 6 years of experience in setting-up swiss type Sliding Head M/C's 7 to 9 axis lathes such as the Citizens, Tornos or the Star., TURN MILLS , 3,4, AND 5 Axis VMC
- Ability to program and set-up complex parts with close tolerances on multi axis swiss type / Lathe machines.(Sliding head machine) and OR Mutli Axis VMC
- Read and interpret GD &T on the Blue print as per ANSI 14.5 Y tolerances. (added advantage)
- Any certification related to Lean, CAD systems, Programming will be a Plus

Sandvik Asia Pvt Ltd (SAPL) has commissioned new Production Facility for Medical Device Manufacturing in Pune. This is exclusively for sales to Orchid India Medisolutions Pvt Ltd, who in turn will sell to Western & Domestic Medical Device OEMs. Orchid Orthopedic Solutions UK & US will be fully supporting & guiding this facility. Location of this facility is in the existing SAPL campus in Pune.
This business model with manufacturing support & supply by SAPL, will help Orchid to set up & establish their presence in India quickly & also, help to launch 'Contract Manufacturing Business Model' with the Medical Device OEMs for the first time in India.
Considering overall growth in Medical Devices globally in the years to come & also, pressure on economical manufacturing on all Medical OEMs, Orchid India Medisolutions Pvt Ltd, with the help of Sandvik Asia Pvt Ltd, is well placed to accept this challenge & work very closely with the Medical OEMs.
SAPL has offered this PU Facility at Pune site on short term basis. Then, it will be necessary, as a part of Orchid's expansion program, to set up an independent Production Unit facility owned by Orchid India Medisolutions Pvt Ltd outside SAPL. This means relocation of all in the operations to the new site will be part of the contract.
In order to make a beginning in SAPL, Pune, applications are invited for various positions. Both, Sandvik & Orchid believe that this position will be the key to drive the operations with full ownership.

These positions will be under Sandvik employment, hence, all the existing Terms & Conditions of SAPL employment are applicable to this post. She / He will report to Vice President.
