Position Overview
VaxTrac is a US-based nonprofit that deploys a biometric-based mobile vaccination management system in developing countries. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Associate is primarily responsible for supporting program and research & evaluation staff on managing and monitoring existing projects, as well as providing assistance with new project design and proposals. We are looking for early career candidates and can offer a flexible working arrangement and a high degree of autonomy. Job will require travel up to 25% of the time, the majority of which will be international.
Job Duties
  • Work with Program team to monitor project reporting mechanisms and ensure all project activities are operating effectively, troubleshooting any issues or concerns that may arise
  • Work with Research & Evaluation team to create and implement various project monitoring tools, often liaising with in country staff to facilitate ongoing capacity development
  • Conduct research initiatives in support of our work, including aspects of study design, data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Support internal and external program communication initiatives, such as writing project success stories and press releases, generating social media content, and contributing to reports for partners and funders
  • Plan and arrange logistics for project-related travel for US-based and in-country staff, including trip objectives and itineraries
Skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in international relations, public health, or political/social science
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strategic, operational, administrative, and financial management skills
  • Excellent communication abilities, including written and cross-cultural
Bonus points
  • Experience in developing countries, either through Peace Corps, work or traveling
  • Project management experience
  • Previous experience working in a start-up, nonprofit, or non-traditional work environment
  • Conversant or fluent in French, or Nepali/Nepalese native language
