Sandvik Machining Solutions, a world leader in tools and tooling systems for metal cutting, as well as components and high-volume blanks in cemented carbide, has an opening for a Warehouse Supervisor at their Americas Distribution Center located in Hebron, KY.
The role
In this key role, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for all distribution processes at ADC, including but not limited to the following activities; Receiving, Returns, Put away, Cycle Counting, Picking, Packing, Shipping, and Invoicing. This individual will have the authority and responsibility for employee training and documentation, time management of warehouse employees, process handling and action made within the Fair Play spirit. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for meeting or exceeding established Sandvik Machining Solutions objectives and key performance measures such as productivity, quality and on time shipments to customers, as well as providing leadership and development to all ADC warehouse personnel.
Key performance areas
  • Ensure warehouse personnel are assigned to the appropriate work areas throughout the working day in order to meet deadlines for all processes.
  • Make decisions regarding work flow throughout the day to ensure daily operational objectives are met in conjunction with ADC Operations Manager and Sandvik Machining Solutions
  • Implement new ADC processes, policies and functions in accordance with Sandvik Machining Solutions objectives.
  • Ensure proper training and documentation of warehouse personnel whenever a procedure or process is implemented or changed.
  • Monitor on an established basis, operations, procedures and employees to ensure quality, service and productivity objectives are met.
  • Request changes or new processes, through the ADC Operations Manager, when changes or implementations will benefit the ADC organization to meet or exceed established objectives as the target.
  • Ensure all activities & operations are carried out in accordance with corporate business ethics and in compliance with company rules & guidelines, statutory regulations and laws.
  • Ensure all established Sandvik Machining Solutions polices are enforced and followed by all employees. Such as, but not limited to; Fair Play, ISO, Security, Safety, Health, Environmental, Attendance and all other Sandvik Machining Solutions policies.
  • Work with all concerned Sandvik Machining Solutions Brands and Sales units to identify, develop and implement policies and procedures to provide a world-class service offer in the OTD area.
Your profile
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent with three years of experience in a distribution environment with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding established company objectives. System knowledge within WMS systems and ISO systems are required. The individual must have an understanding of all ADC warehouse processes, policies and procedures. Excellent supervisory skills including planning, organizing, controlling, leading, innovating as well as motivational and development skills are essential. This individual will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Must be able to travel.
