Intern for ICC and death penalty campaigns

The PGA ICC & ADP Campaigns
Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) is a network of more than 1300 parliamentarians from 142 countries around the world who use their legislative and political prerogatives for the solution of global problems and to undertake specific actions and international initiatives with the support of PGA’s secretariat. PGA works on an expanded list of global issues such as fostering democracy, conflict prevention and management, international law and human rights, population and sustainable development.
Since 1989, under the umbrella of the International Law and Human Rights Programme, the PGA Campaign for the Universality and Effectiveness of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (PGA ICC Campaign) has contributed to the ratification of 76 of 122 States Parties to the Rome Statute to the International Criminal Court (ICC). PGA is widely recognized as the parliamentary network working on international justice and the ICC.
In 2013, PGA launched its Global Parliamentary Platform for the Abolition of the Death Penalty with the goal of enhancing the impact of individual parliamentarian initiatives worldwide. This platform works for the ratification of international legal norms prohibiting the death penalty, including the Second Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the United Nations General Assembly Resolutions on the moratorium on the use of the death penalty. PGA has been recognized as the international parliamentary network relevant for the abolition of the death penalty, after gaining this official designation during the Annual Assembly of the World Coalition against the Death Penalty in 2014.
