The role
Sandvik is seeking a Field Service Technician to be responsible for carrying out relevant trade duties, repairs, fault diagnosis work and general duties as required on mobile and fixed plant construction equipment such as drills, crushers and screeners as well as road headers.
Key performance areas
  • Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies;
  • Carry out general mechanical duties, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis work on all Sandvik Mining & Construction equipment;
  • Perform mechanical maintenance duties as directed and as per maintenance plans, to a standard that maintains the integrity of the equipment and does not compromise safe operation;
  • Provide relevant feedback to enable maintenance planning improvements in terms of efficiency and equipment integrity;
  • Record keeping of parts usage, equipment monitoring, time records.
Your profile
The role will require you to have qualifications in a heavy diesel mechanical trade and a post trade experience of at least 5 years with an impeccable safety record. Experience in surface and underground mining and heavy mobile equipment desirable. Computer literacy and knowledge and experience with Sandvik products will be a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate will operate with minimum supervision and have strong customer relation skills and be able to work effectively within a team. You will have a positive attitude and be flexible with hours of work to meet our customer requirements. This role involves travelling to customer sites, working at other Sandvik sites and rostered shift work.
