PRODUCTION OPERATOR

Production Operators

Key Performance Areas
In this key role, the Production Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating production equipment, and interpreting drawings, instructions, and process sheets to determine the work to be done. The Production Operator has a “Safety First” mindset and will ensure that Sandvik Hyperion conforms to all applicable safety, quality, and environmental standards. You must be willing and able to train other employees on all equipment.
Additionally, the Production Operator will:
  • Adhere to lean manufacturing principles
  • Review specifications to determine machining sequence and dimensions of finished work piece
  • Attach fixture to machine- positions and secure work piece in fixture according to setup instructions
  • Select and install proper tooling
  • Perform a variety of inspection and gauging operations to insure maintenance of quality standards and specifications, and record readings as necessary in inspection software
  • Measure work piece for conformance to specifications, and record readings as necessary
This role will be on either second shift (2 PM – 10 PM) or third shift (10 PM – 6 AM)
Your Profile
The Machine Operator must have machinery operating experience with data entry and mechanical skills. You possess a High School diploma or GED and have strong decision making and leadership abilities. You are a detail oriented team player and show a high level of motivation and initiative.
The Machine Operator should possess:
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a production environment
  • Ability to train others
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to adjust to meet the demands of production
  • Computer knowledge
Pressing, grinding, and/or CNC experience is desired. Heat treating knowledge would be a plus, as would controller experience.
