Research Associate/Senior Research Associate
The Global Women's Institute at the George Washington University is hiring a research associate or senior research associate to support the implementation of it's robust portfolio of interdisciplinary research pertaining to violence against women. The research associate will conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis for projects in several countries including Haiti. This position will require oral and written communication in French and strong quantitative skills. Title and salary are commensurate with experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides quantitative and qualitative research and analysis services for research projects in several countries including Haiti. This will require oral and written communication in French and strong quantitative skills
Provides technical assistance to other research projects. This may include writing articles and briefs, supporting quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, providing input into research design by developing and/or modifying techniques, evaluating progress of studies at predetermined checkpoints, and developing training materials and supporting the capacity building of local partners.
Provides management and logistical support to the implementation of research projects. Formulates research methods, identifies potential problems, recommends and implements solutions and collaborates in the development of new techniques.
Performs other work related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Preferred qualifications:
Research associate require’s a master’s degree and 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area. Senior research associate requires a master’s degree and 3 years of direct experience in the field.
Knowledge of and experience in conducting and disseminating quantitative and qualitative research; knowledge of M&E highly desirable.
Languages: French (required), Spanish (desirable)
Knowledge of and experience in using statistical software such as SPSS and/orSTATA.
Topical expertise in gender equality and violence against women.
Administrative skills and experience.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong writing and communication skills.
