Exploration Tools Global Planner

Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

Scope

Planning and Control organization - DS Purchasing & Logistics Personnel, Exploration - Aftermarket Manager, GPLM’s and Product Line Support team, Supply & Sourcing Manager, Logistics Manager, Regional Business Managers, Order Desks, Operations Support, Finance, HR, Communications, Project management
Third party service providers & consultants

Key performance areas

Typical issues to handle in this role:
  • Plan and control the entire supply chain & take corrective actions, as necessary, by monitoring NWC, inventory KPIs and service level (fill rate)
  • Reduce obsolete and slow moving inventory by proactive management of global inventories and by promoting cost efficient approach through the supply chain
  • Ensure the optimization of resources within a product group by continuous evaluation and supervision of all functions in the supply chain
  • Communication of key planning information, NWC and KPIs to the Product Line Management team and Supply chain management
Important Aspects Of The Role Are:
This role is responsible for strategic and tactical supply chain planning, including PU planning, inventory management, returns planning, strategic stock planning, and reporting.
  • Maintain the desired inventories of ET Items in, in-market warehouses.
  • Globally accountable for product line inventory levels & OSMI.
  • Globally accountable for product line fill rate.
  • Redistribution of slow moving inventory, approve/arrange returns to central stock locations.
  • Weekly giving PU’s replenishment purchase orders and prioritize in line with customer demand and global stock levels.
  • Weekly follow up on delivery from PU as per plan; take actions if not on target and update the information in the system.
  • DRP management and communication with outbound planners and regions with regards to deliveries of tools orders.
  • Responding to LPS queries.

Behaviours -Your profile
  • A University or College Diploma in logistics or supply chain management combined with 3-5 years’ experience is preferred or the equivalent achieved through a combination of education and working experience
  • Three to five years in a similar role including direct experience working with supply chain planning, production planning, inventory management or distribution requirements planning. In-depth knowledge of key concepts & theories related to forecasting, inventory management & supply chain management.

Reports to: Supply Chain Planning and Control – Global Planning Manager
