Currently we are looking for a:
Senior Advisor Programme and Grant Management

Your challenge
As the Senior Advisor Programme and Grant Management (Sr. Advisor PGM) you are responsible for advising and supporting Country Management Teams and the Manager of Programme and Grant Management. You are responsible for facilitating and monitoring the implementation of the War Child Programmes within your portfolio of countries in the Middle-East. You are the specialist and point of contact at Head Office for your portfolio of countries.
- Support at country level: strategy development, annual planning, project design, proposal development, institutional donor relations, donor compliance, grant management, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation, as well as entry and exit of country programmes;
- Support Country Management Teams and other stakeholders in fundraising and grant management;
- Ensure availability of financial resources;
- Ensure that grants are implemented as per donor contract, policies and regulations and internal policies, regulations and that minimum standards are adhered to;
- Ensure that reliable data is available (including financial and fundraising data);
- Build capacity of country offices in close coordination with other stakeholders at Country and Head Office level;
- Responsible, when applicable, for management of Head Office lead grants.Your profile
- At least 5 years of field experience in humanitarian or development work;
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in the area of fundraising with institutional donors and grant/ account management;
- Experience in proposal development and grant management for the European Commission, DFID, Sida, DFATD, USAID and/or UN agencies (UNICEF, UNESCO) is a big plus;
- Extensive knowledge of war affected emergency, post-emergency or developing countries in the Middle-East;
- Excellent writing skills in English, fluency in Arab is a big plus. Working knowledge of Dutch is a plus;
- Proven track record in design and writing of winning technical programs responding to grant solicitations in a limited amount of time;
- Excellent relation building skills, diplomatic skills and you are strong in building and maintaining networks;
- Excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail;
- Strategic and capable to translate ideas into concrete plans;
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines;
- Ability to deal effectively in various cultural and war affected contexts;
- Result-oriented and determined;
- University degree in international economics, management, development/ international studies or related field;
- Willing and able to travel at least once a year to each country in your portfolio;
