TOOLS SALES AND SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE – ROCK DRILLING TOOLS

The role
The Tools Sales and Support Representative (TSSR), is responsible to promote the sale, service and aftermarket product support of the Sandvik range of surface and underground drilling tools and consumables. The TSSR will focus on the Sandvik range of Top Hammer, Down the Hole Hammer, and Rotary Drilling tools and consumables across both mining and construction industries. The nominated customer base covers Victoria, Tasmania and New Zealand, so frequent travel and the ability to work autonomously is a requirement for this position. The position base is flexible, with a choice between regional Victoria (Dandenong, Bendigo), or Tasmania (Burnie).
Key performance areas
  • Responsible for achieving sales and market share targets, and assist with the development of sales budgets and business plans.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships with key decision makers within your allocated sales area.
  • Initiate and coordinate product trials with customers, with a focus of adding value to their business.
  • Seek out new applications for Rock Tools products, as well as opportunities for other Sandvik products and services.
  • Provide monthly business analysis and market activity report updates.
  • Provide monthly stock forecasts by product / by customer.
  • Provide training and technical support to external and internal stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Rock Tools Product Support Managers and Applications Engineers on opportunities for product upgrades and improvements.
Your profile
To be successful, you should possess 5 years’ experience in Surface or Underground Hard Rock mining, preferably with relevant trade or tertiary qualifications. Sales experience in the mining industry will be an advantage, and technical aptitude and an understanding of drill and blast practices along with a strong customer focus are highly regarded. Your interpersonal skills will be highly developed including the ability to negotiate with customers at multiple levels of their business; additionally you will have a good level of computer literacy with highly developed time management and organisational skills.

A fully maintained company vehicle, laptop, mobile phone, base salary and a sales bonus scheme form the package for the suitable applicant. You will also require a current passport and be able to travel regularly to neighbouring countries.
