Consultancy – Middle East and North Africa Scoping Study

NTERIGHTS , London, Greater London, United Kingdom
INTERIGHTS
For over 25 years INTERIGHTS has played a leading role in promoting human rights through the use of international and comparative law. We have pursued this through strategic litigation and a range of complementary capacity building activities, working with lawyers, judges and civil society partners worldwide. INTERIGHTS currently focuses its activities in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa and South Asia, and thematically on economic and social rights, equality and security and the rule of law.

We are seeking a consultant to conduct a scoping study and produce a comprehensive report with recommendations on whether and, if so, how best, INTERIGHTS could develop a programme of work in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). (Please see MENA background information sheet).

The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in law with extensive human rights experience in a legal role, as well as extensive knowledge and experience of working on human rights issues in MENA within a legal context. They will have experience of primary and secondary source research and experience of setting up a programme.

Successful applicants must have previous experience in conducting scoping or feasibility studies for NGOs developing new programmes and strong up to date networks within MENA civil society and the legal community.

Please see the Terms of Reference for further details.
