Senior Marketing Campaigns Manager

An icon. A Great British Institution. A brand with a rich history and a very exciting future. The National Trust is Europe's largest conservation charity, with some 3.8 million members, around 10,000 staff (including those who help us seasonally) and 61,000 vital volunteers. We welcome over 50 million visitors every year to 709 miles of coast, more than 250,000 acres of countryside, and over 350 historic houses, gardens, nature reserves and parks.

We want even more people to enjoy the special places we look after, to get involved with them, be inspired by them, and love them as much as we do. And all sorts of people too. That’s why we’re working hard to engage supporters and attract more and more people to join us. How will we do this? By telling our fantastic story and inspiring everyone to get involved.

You’ll be based at Heelis in Swindon, our new award-winning central office. From the quiet courtyards and alleyways of the Old Town, to a vibrant mix of traditional shops and pubs, modern outlets and stylish cafes, there’s plenty to enjoy in Swindon – and plenty that will surprise you! The county of Wiltshire is a beautiful county of great diversity, with the Cotswolds on your doorstep. Swindon also enjoys excellent transports links to London, and the cities of Bath and Bristol are just an hour’s drive away.

About your role

Put simply, you’ll lead and manage our talented Offline Marketing Campaign and Project team. From consumer and B2B visitor marketing campaigns to lifestyle/social marketing projects, you’ll work on our ‘Time well spent’ campaign and develop a range of new advertising and POS campaigns in line with our vision and strategy.

An inspiration to your multi-talented team, you’ll effectively plan resources for entire campaigns and projects, making sure that we have the necessary budget, timeframes and contingency in place. Working closely with colleagues, often strategic leads or senior managers, you’ll make sure that each project and campaign has a comprehensive project and creative brief – and from the word go.

When it comes to creative work, you’ll develop campaigns in a solid, systematic way, working with National Trust colleagues and creative agencies. A creative champion, someone who makes the most of all available insight and research, you’ll develop exceptional creative campaigns. Campaigns that further enhance our brand reputation and objectives. You’ll also select, manage and work with media agencies to achieve the greatest return and deliver integrated, creative and effective media planning and scheduling.

Financially speaking, you’re strong. You’ll know actual and committed spend for your projects, and you’ll share this information with colleagues when needed. More than anything, you’ll make sure that every campaign is properly informed by insight, that it can be effectively – and regularly – evaluated. This way, we’ll learn from everything we do and we’ll continue to do things better than before.

About you

While your background could be marketing, brand management, marketing services or advertising, you’ll have impressive experience in marketing and sales. In fact, when it comes to marketing, you have an excellent knowledge of virtually every marketing discipline, especially above the line and campaign development. Creatively-minded and strategically-focused, you’re used to managing large budgets and big campaigns. You’ll also have plenty of experience of managing consultancies and agencies. Indeed, you’re an inspiring, engaging leader, whether it’s people, projects or budgets.
