Applications are invited from scholars of the highest international standing for the newly established Chair in International Banking Law and Financial Regulation to be based in the School of Law, University of Edinburgh.

You will be a world leader in International Banking Law and Financial Regulation who has strong connections to the legal and financial regulation professions. You may be an established academic with an existing research profile which is internationally excellent in these areas. You may, alternatively, be a legal practitioner having a well-established practice of the highest calibre in these areas, well-known within the industry as one of the leading experts. Building on the success of the existing Edinburgh Centre for Commercial Law (“ECCL”), you will develop the Law School’s role as a focal point for research and knowledge exchange within the business community, building on existing links with that community forged by the ECCL.

As a successful leader with highly developed inter-personal skills you will be able to inspire younger members of staff, helping each to achieve his or her full potential as a researcher and as a member of a team able to contribute positively to the wider life of the Law School as a whole. You will be expected to develop a nominate LLM in International Banking Law and Financial Regulation as well as new opportunities in online learning, both through the creation of specific online learning Masters courses and programmes and through online learning continuing professional development programmes. Finally, we will expect you to build stronger cross-College networks in research, teaching and the co-ordination of grant applications.
