Working within the RCN’s new Policy and International Department, the EU/International Adviser will be responsible for identifying, analysing and developing positions on major European Union and international nursing and health issues as well as devising effective influencing strategies. She/he will work closely with our EU and international partners and, as part of a large membership organisation, engage and inform nursing staff in the development of RCN policy positions.

You will be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge and understanding of how the EU operates, effective monitoring and influencing of EU proposals and policies in the health or social field, excellent analytical and communication skills, strong partnership working in an EU/international context and a focus on engaging stakeholders and members. A sound understanding of UK health systems and nursing is also desirable. The role requires regular travel to Brussels.
