Fundraising Coordinator JRS

The Coordinator creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fundraising which includes major gifts, annual giving, and grant solicitation.

Location: Rome, Italy

Report to: International Director

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the International Director in the development of fundraising strategies, plans and activities.
  • Implementing fundraising plans in accordance with ethical fundraising principles.
  • Identifying and developing corporate, community and individual prospects for JRS fundraising priorities.
  • Building relationships with stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of JRS International
  • Developing and managing timelines for all fundraising activities, ensuring that they are carried out within set time frames.
  • Preparing and submitting grant applications to generate funds for JRS.
  • Overseeing the administration of a donor mailing list and database which respects the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
  • Monitoring and evaluating all fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals are being achieved.
  • Working closely with the Coordinators of Communications, Programmes, Finance, Advocacy and the Secretariat of the International Office.
  • Developing a global fundraising network for JRS in close collaboration with other JRS regional offices and partner organisations within the Society of Jesus (e.g., with province mission offices).
  • Developing and gaining approval for an annual income and expenditure budget for the fundraising program.
  • Preparing regular reports on progress, budgets, receipts and expenditures related to fundraising and the management of fundraising activities.
  • Monitoring expenses and analysing budget reports on fundraising and recommend changes as necessary.
  • In conjunction with the JRS Communications staff, developing a comprehensive communication plan that maximizes public awareness of the fundraising needs of JRS.
  • Cooperating on the design, printing and distribution of marketing materials for fundraising efforts.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the mission of the Society of Jesus and familiarity with Jesuit Refugee Service, as well as the ability to represent JRS as a Jesuit and Church organisation.
  • Bachelor's degree minimum; Master's degree preferred with strong experience in fundraising.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, database management and electronic based systems and tools (website, Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent writing and oral communication skills.
  • Fluency in English required as well as a good working knowledge of one of the following languages: Spanish, German, Italian, French.
  • Understanding of different cultures and ability to communicate across cultures.
  • Willingness to travel internationally to JRS projects on behalf of the organisation.
  • Ability to work well within a team to achieve organisational goals.
  • Ability to work within the EU and willingness to live and work in Rome.

Conditions

Entry conditions: 2-year contract according to Italian law
Gross salary range: 32.000-34.500 Euros.
