Recruitment of Research Assistants

Background

The Institute of Policy Analysis and Research-Rwanda (IPAR-Rwanda) is an independent policy analysis and research institute whose primary mandate is to conduct research and analysis leading to policy advice to the government, private sector and civil society in Rwanda.

The institute wishes to invite applications from competent candidates who would be called upon on need basis within a period of one year to assist the institute's researcher to carry out research projects.

Scope of assignment

• Research assistants when called upon will undertake to following tasks;
• Assist researchers in both secondary and primary data collection.
• Work with the lead researchers during the data entry, data cleaning and data analysis.
• Prepare timely narrative and financial reports on-going research/ analysis for the assignments given to him/her
• Assist in translating research tools

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should:

• Be Rwandans,
• Be able to understand, read and write Kinyarwanda and English or French,
• Have at least a Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, and Business Studies, Social Sciences (sociology, public administration, politics, Women's studies and anthropology) or any other closely related field,
• Have basic computer applications understanding including office applications.

Applicants having prior experience in the above said tasks will be given an added advantage.

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation of the qualifications shall consider the academic qualifications and competence/experience and Computer (statistical pack ages) and language skills (Kinyarwanda and English/French).
