Chief of party

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for an anticipated USAID-funded project to increase food security and improve nutrition and health in northern Ghana. We are looking for professionals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world​.

Responsibilities: * Provide overall program direction and technical expertise * Oversee a team of direct employees * Manage relationships with national and international subcontractors * Oversee planning, implementation, and management of the project and its technical activities * Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with USAID, government officials, partner organizations, and other stakeholders * Ensure compliance with contract requirements * Manage a budget in accordance with USAID regulations and policies

Qualifications: * Master's degree or higher in nutrition, public health, or related field required * Minimum 10 years of experience required in international nutrition, public health, livelihoods, or gender, including 7 years of experience living and/or working in developing countries * Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role in USAID and other donor nutrition, health, or livelihoods projects required * Experience in Africa required * Proven experience in developing and implementing integrated nutrition and food security programs preferred * Technical expertise and work experience in nutrition, maternal and child health, gender, and livelihoods preferred * Experience in related fields such as agriculture, staple foods, livestock production, and value chain development a plus * Demonstrated versatility, integrity and leadership

Gender specialist

The gender specialist will provide technical assistance for the design and implementation of nutrition components of livelihoods, agriculture, health, and food security activities. We are looking for professionals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world

Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred * Minimum seven years of international development experience managing projects with gender-related components, including technical assistance and training * Experience preferred with projects that empowered women to engage in economic activity and non-traditional roles * Experience conducting gender analyses or measuring the impact of women empowerment activities * Experience engaging men and community members to improve household nutrition preferred * Experience connecting women's inclusion, food security, and agricultural growth preferred * Knowledge of USAID's regulatory requirements for project management * Ability to conceptualize, outline, perform, and direct technical assignments, as well as write technical documents according to USAID regulations and policy * Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills with demonstrated aptitude for teamwork * Familiarity with USAID's Feed the Future Women's Empowerment Index * Demonstrated versatility, integrity, and leadership

Agriculture technical specialists

Chemonics seeks agriculture technical specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded project in northern Ghana to promote increased food security and improved nutrition and health. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. ​We are seeking specialists with expertise in the following areas: * Production and marketing of staple foods, horticulture, livestock, and cash crop value chains * Agricultural extension technology transfer * Input supply systems * Small-scale, value-added processing and technology * Storage and post-harvest handling * Business service provision or enterprise development * Farmer association development * Dairy and livestock * Market linkages and market information systems * Policy development * Cross-border trade * Agricultural/rural finance * Gender * Monitoring and Evaluation​

Qualifications: * Degree in agriculture, economics, business, or related area; advanced degree preferred * Experience with food systems in northern Ghana * Minimum five years of experience promoting agricultural production and marketing or policy reform * Proven record of successful delivery of technical assistance * Proven managerial or supervisory experience * Experience with USAID highly preferred * Experience working collaboratively with the government of Ghana, international donors, and local organizations * Strong writing and interpersonal skills * Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity * Fluent English required

Nutrition specialists

Chemonics seeks nutrition specialists for an anticipated USAID-funded project in northern Ghana to promote increased food security and improved nutrition and health. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Applicants should have proven expertise in at least one of the following areas: * Behavior change interventions to improve nutrition practices * Nutrition surveys and assessments, including lot quality assurance sampling * Integration of nutrition activities into livelihoods and agriculture programs * Nutrition for HIV-affected populations * Micronutrient supplementation * Nutritional products, including micronutrient powders and ready-to-use therapeutic foods * Improved crop varieties for better nutrition * Food safety * Monitoring and evaluation of nutrition interventions

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in nutrition, public health, or other relevant field
Minimum seven years of experience providing technical assistance to nutrition and/or food security projects in developing countries
In-depth understanding of U.S. government health and food security initiatives
Ability to develop strategies and detailed implementation plans for nutrition and related health and agriculture elements
Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
