Communication for Development Advisor ABC International Development

The Media Development Initiative (MDI) has been operating in PNG since 2006, providing technical and logistical support to the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) in the areas of human capacity development, journalism training, radio programming, and major infrastructure development. Since 2011, MDI has been supporting the NBC to become a PNG leader in the field of communication for development (C4D) in health and gender. Please note this position is dependent upon final project approval from AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development.

Position Description

The position will be based in Port Moresby and will be responsible for building on C4D work done over the last 12 months. The role will focus on extending C4D content on all National Broadcasting Corporation PNG networks by mentoring and supporting NBC staff, to continue to strengthen the NBC’s relationships with donors, I NGO’s and Government Departments and develop content focussing on health, education and gender.
