Deputy Director Women Living Under Muslim Laws
Women Living Under Muslim Laws (WLUML) is an international solidarity network, a UK registered charity organisation that promotes human rights and gender equality for women whose lives are shaped, conditioned or governed by laws said to be derived from Islam. It works in partnership with women’s organisations and individuals in over 70 countries to strengthen movements for social justice and the advancement of women’s human rights. WLUML was founded and is led by women’s groups & individuals with mainly Muslim backgrounds from Global South countries.
WLUML is looking for a dynamic and motivated individual who will lead, develop and manage a small but diverse team of staff and specialist consultants and an exciting new programme that will develop women’s leadership and political participation primarily in the MENA region.
You will have a proven track record of developing and managing advocacy projects and have understanding of complex issues in fast paced environments; you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You are a good negotiator and deal with all professional relationships with tact and understanding. This post will involve some overseas travel.
This is a lead officer position at the International Coordination Office in Archway London.

Salary: £37,000 per annum.
Full Time: (35 hours a week) Fixed Term position until December 2014.
Annual Holiday allowance: 25 working days per annum.
