Director, Individual Giving
Plan wants to see a world in which all children can realise their potential in societies that respect their rights and dignity. Our high quality programmes deliver long-lasting benefits in education, health and protection across 50 of the world’s poorest countries and are financed through the annual raising of €600m in funds.
Almost 75% of these funds come from individuals, so Individual Giving is a very important revenue stream for us. Working with the CEO, your role will be to devise strategies which will enable Plan to meet a targeted 50% annual increase in total funds by 2015.
Based at our Surrey headquarters and potentially spending a proportion of your time travelling, you’ll be working closely with teams across twenty of our National Organisations and in our fifty program countries, championing Individual Giving and developing, testing and promoting new products and mechanisms that raise interest and income.
This calls for a deep knowledge of Individual Giving, backed up by significant international fundraising or business development experience, ideally within an international NGO. Experience of child sponsorship or similar products would be particularly valuable, but not essential.
A strong communicator, presenter, negotiator and influencer, who can build productive long-distance relationships beyond your direct line management chain, you will know how to maximise opportunities and promote innovative ways of giving. Fluency in English is essential and a second international language is an advantage.
