Director, Institutional Funding

Plan has a vision for the world in which all children can realise their potential in societies that respect their rights and dignity. Our high quality programmes deliver long lasting benefits in education, health and protection across 50 of the world’s poorest countries, and are financed through the annual raising of €600m in funds.

20% of these funds are currently grants from institutional donors, a percentage that has been rising in recent years and looks set to continue. Working with the CEO, your role will be to devise and assist others to implement a grant mobilisation strategy, helping us meet a targeted 50% annual increase in total funds by 2015.

Based at our Surrey headquarters, with occasional travel, you’ll be reviewing our current grants pipeline and identifying ways to grow it, especially with multi-lateral donors.

Building productive long-distance relationships with grant raising departments in our twenty National Organisations, and in our fifty programme countries, is critical to the success of this pivotal strategic and advisory role.

Expert at identifying changing grant donor behaviours, and at influencing major global donors, you must be an incisive strategic thinker and analyst who knows the international donor landscape well and have significant relevant grant mobilisation experience, ideally within or by regular working with an International NGO.

You will possess excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills. Fluency in English is essential and a second international language is an advantage.
