PATH is an international nonprofit organization that creates sustainable, culturally relevant solutions, enabling communities worldwide to break longstanding cycles of poor health. PATH's mission is to improve the health of people around the world by advancing technologies, strengthening systems, and encouraging healthy behaviors. The HIV/TB global program works globally to prevent the spread of HIV and mitigate the impact of the epidemic. PATH and its project partners are currently implementing a five-year $45 million contract to improve and integrate HIV services in the Democratic Republic of Congo (ProVIC). Project activities include:

  • Enhancing HIV counseling and testing services and addressing issues of stigma.
  • Strengthening community engagement in developing and implementing cost-effective and successful prevention strategies.
  • Increasing access to comprehensive services to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
  • Improving care, support, and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS, orphans and vulnerable children, and their families.
  • Strengthening local health systems and building the capacity of local health staff.

PATH anticipates receiving additional funding to support the expansion of project activities with a focus on addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and gender norms, and integrating existing national GBV strategies. In order to support this expansion we are seeking a Grants Manager to be based in Kisangani who will work closely with the local Finance Officer and the team in Washington, DC.

The Grants Manager's responsibilities will include:

  • Help develop and implement a grants management system in the DRC and advise project and partner staff on sub grant management and record keeping, systems, and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with USAID and organizational requirements on grant making.
  • Coordinate with partner organizations to ensure consistent, effective, and efficient project finance.
  • Provide information, advice and technical assistance to partners and sub grantees on project related compliance issues such as financial reporting requirements, audit reports, procurement, and grant monitoring.
Required Skills

Substantial expertise in both contracts and grant management to civil society organizations, community based organizations, and faith based organizations in developing countries;

Expertise in the financial and regulatory aspects of USAID.

Expertise in Grant Administration.

Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills in English and French

  • 2 year degree in business administration, finance, or accounting plus a minimum of three years of financial or financial related experience working in health and development programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
