Light Mining Equipment (LME) Unit Manager Tanzania

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The development and implementation of an 18-month strategy which will deliver the expected high level of availability and reliability of Light Mining Equipment (ancillary, light trucks and vehicles), to manage the maintenance planning function and the Welding, Rebuild and Crane sections of the HME/LME Engineering department.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Substantive, demonstrable experience in the engineering management of HME/LME equipment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND AUTHORITIES OF THE ROLE:

This incumbent would be accountable for the following:

  • Selecting and implementing best-case plans, balancing future requirements against current activity, with options and alternatives readily available to address adverse conditions as required.
  • Providing clear and effective leadership to the team of first line managers in living "Safety is our first value" with a focus on Zero Harm through management of risk.
  • Developing and maintaining a team capable of executing the strategy, quality standards and reliability targets with consistent and sustainable performance.
  • Managing effectively in a dynamic and changing environment which includes the implementation of new technologies and will require substantial attention to the analysis and improvement of work processes and methods.
  • Successfully managing a diverse workforce and identify and resource the technical training and development requirements for the team to ensure continuous improvement targets are met and are sustainable.

Mining Manager

REMUNERATION:

The successful candidate will be appointed on a 2 year expatriate contract, which may be renewed, regular leave breaks will apply. The successful candidate would be offered a US dollar based salary.
