OPERATIONS OFFICER (CIVIL ENGINEER)
PROJECTS DEPARTMENT


The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) is seeking to recruit nationals from its Member Countries to fill the position of Operations Officer (Civil Engineer) in the Economic Infrastructure and Social Sector Divisions of the Projects Department.

CDB is a multi-lateral development finance institution that works in collaboration with its Borrowing Member Countries to promote sustainable, social and economic development within these countries and economic cooperation and integration among them.

The Role

The OO (Civil Engineer) is accountable for due diligence, probity and professional excellence in the discharge of the position’s specific responsibility for the civil engineering expertise in monitoring the implementation of the infrastructure and related institutional components of assigned projects. He/she is expected to stay abreast of advances in the civil engineering discipline, identify/recommend areas for improvement of operational policy, procedure and practice, “lessons learned” and best practices to support project development activities and project performance assessments.


The Candidate


  • Eligible candidates should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a post-graduate degree in a related field from a recognised university.

  • Candidates should have at least six (6) years’ relevant experience in engineering design, supervision of construction and/or project management.

  • The successful candidates must be willing to live and work in Barbados.
