Sense is a national charity that supports and campaigns for children and adults who are deafblind. We provide specialist information, advice and services to deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. In addition, we support people who have sensory impairments with additional disabilities.

We are looking for a Research Officer, who will support internal and external research projects that focus on different aspects of deafblindness, including, as a priority, Usher Syndrome.

A key part of the role will be disseminating and sharing knowledge that enables deafblind people and their families to understand the impact of the latest medical and genetic developments, the choices they may have about treatments and the opportunities they may have to participate in future research.

The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to design and undertake disability related research. Experience of managing deadlines and project management is required.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who has the ability to build excellent working relationships.
