Researcher – Indonesia Amnesty International

Amnesty International investigates and documents human rights issues; this work is fundamental to our advocacy and lobbying efforts. Our researchers are from wide-ranging backgrounds such as activism, academia, the law, or journalism and can identify and thoroughly investigate those issues, and ensure our voice has authority.


About the role


We’re looking for a Researcher to join our Southeast Asia team to focus primarily on Indonesia and Timor Leste. You’ll take the lead responsibility for initiating strategy and a programme of human rights research and action by providing country expertise, research skills and sound political judgement.


About you


You’ll have excellent writing and research skills and are comfortable working as part of a large and diverse team. Having worked on human rights issues, you’ll have worked in or have substantial knowledge of Southeast Asia, particularly of Indonesia and Timor Leste. Fluency in written and spoken English, including excellent writing skills, is essential. Fluency in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesian is also essential.
