Kimberley Underground Mines JV is situated in the town of Kimberley in the Northern Cape. The Mine consists of three conventional slusher drift block cave mines.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Control and lead production and development crews
• Be responsible for charging and blasting
• Ensure the crew adheres to security and SHE policies and procedures
• Be on standby and available for callouts should the need arise
• Ensure and maintain safety standards
• Keep record of daily activities and report to the Shiftboss
• Be responsible for timekeeping of crews
• Work overtime.

Minimum requirements:
• A Grade 10
• A valid Permanent Blasting Certificate
• A Code 08 driver’s licence
• 2 years’ underground experience
• Independent, proactive thinking and the ability to do own job planning and make decisions
• Supervisory/people management skills
• Good communication skills.
