consultant to carry out a market survey on cold storage requirements in Tanzania

A consultant (a firm or practicing individuals) is required to carry out a market survey on cold storage requirements in the country. In short, a client company is looking at the possibility of investing in the cold storage facilities. There’s a lot of fresh produces like fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, etc which rot in the country because of lack of or inadequate cold storage facilities.

Below is a brief outline of the ToR

1. What is approx the total amount of these fresh products generated within the country or imported from outside? The major sources (locations) of these products should be clearly spelt out..
2. How much of this is approx being wasted because they cannot be stored properly?
3. What are the currently available facilities in the country, their approx capacity, who owns them and how much they are charging?
4. What would be the most appropriate locations in the country to install cold storage facilities to cater for the existing needs?

The construction of a commercial cold storage facility is a very expensive undertaking and therefore it is imperative that a proper study should be done before embarking on it.
