The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), the Nation's premier source of energy information, is currently seeking a self-motivated and highly-qualified candidate to be the Director for its Office of Energy Markets and Financial Analysis (EMFA). The Director will interact with EIA’s Senior Management, other Departmental officers and Congressional contacts who require assessments of the financial aspects of energy markets and related pricing issues, which include the interrelationship between macro-economic activity, government policies, energy prices, technological change and consumer behavior. The program covers a wide-range of analyses that develop insights into the process of energy price formation and support decision-making on public policy initiatives, including Congressional and Executive Branch initiatives. Experience managing macro-economic models in the development of energy projections and disseminating analytical results to a varied government and private sector customer base is preferred. Prime candidates for this exciting full-time permanent position should demonstrate established networking contacts with senior officials among private sector policy-makers, financial markets, academics, international governments/organizations and foreign governments. Also, the most qualified candidates will have extensive experience in program management, in providing strategic direction and in leading a highly-educated and interdisciplinary technical staff.
