ECPAT International Fundraising Intern

Overall Purpose of the Internship
The ECPAT International internship programme is designed to provide an opportunity to the eligible candidates to contribute to and learn about child protection issues, particularly children’s rights to live free of commercial sexual exploitation. Interns are eligible to participate in the ECPAT International Secretariat activities. The specific purpose for the Fundraising Internship to support organisational fundraising capacity through research of prospective donors and submission of funding requests, and to support the Fundraising & Grant Management Officer (FGO), Programme Officers and the Senior Management Team with donor/ grant management.

Primary Tasks

Research of prospective donors
• Pro-actively assess funding opportunities in the field of child rights or other linkages with the work of ECPAT (incl. non traditional donor areas like “social investors”)
• Maintain records of research undertaken (donor fact sheets, donor database)
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of trends in donor spending, activities of other relevant INGOs
• Advice and support the FGO on opportunities that require research at secondary level

Donor/ grant Management
• Proof-reading of fundraising documents (proposals, reports, stewardship materials)
• Support the development of proposals and concept notes (where appropriate)
• Pro-actively collect and edit articles useful for donor stewardship
• Copyediting and proofreading ECPAT publications and newsletters
• Developing and updating social media content, including Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook

Qualifications

Essential

• Graduate of NGO management, international development, CSR, business/marketing or an early career fundraising professional seeking international experience
• Research skills
• Strong writing skills and ability to synthesize
• Fluency in English; Spanish language skills is an advantage
• Creativity and ability to conceptualize
• Accurate
• Understanding of global funding issues/ processes
• Solid knowledge of MS Office
• Basic knowledge of Wordpress and social media platforms would be an advantage
• Interest in child rights

Internship Conditions
A modest stipend (10, 000 Thai baht) will be made available to the interns who are not sponsored by other organizations or institutions. Due to limited resources all costs related to the internship, i.e. travel, passport, visa or living in Bangkok, are to be borne by the intern or his/her sponsoring institution or organisation.
