Analyst, Demand Forecasting Duty station: Geneva Purpose of the post: Provide comprehensive demand scenario analyses to inform decision-making across the GAVI Alliance.

Key results expected: • Analytical support of GAVI vaccine market including current portfolio vaccines and future vaccines; • Development of forecast scenarios using the GAVI forecasting tool and other models; • Packaging of vaccine demand and related information for internal and external audiences. Main duties/ Responsibilities: • Provide full support on demand scenarios and ad-hoc analyses to GAVI Secretariat and other institutions as required by the Demand Forecasting team; • Interview technical experts to gather and validate forecast data sources and assumptions; • Support the Demand Forecasting team to ensure that all the strategic demand forecasts are provided on time for sign-off twice per year following agreed forecasting methodology; • Develop and analyse policy scenarios regarding existing and future GAVI vaccines; • Communicate on demand forecasting issues within GAVI Secretariat (ad-hoc and formally); • Provide information to liaise with UNICEF Supply Division with regards to supply situation of specific vaccines; • Other activities as necessary in support of AVI/ Market Shaping work. Note: The essential functions listed in this section are not limited only to the tasks listed and may include other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Academic: • Advanced University degree in Sciences, Economics, Development, Business Administration or Bachelor’s degree and equivalent experience. Work experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience in the following areas: • Design and implementation of complex models, for example, with MS Excel using macros or specialized forecasting software; • Strategic planning / market analysis in an industrial, consulting and/or academic setting; • Vaccine or pharmaceutical knowledge preferable; • Knowledge of developing countries desireable. Skills/competencies: • Demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and aptitude for analytics; • Ability to think critically, quantitatively evaluate a situation and appropriately interpret results. • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious working relationships, both within and outside the organization; • Excellent communication skills; • Excellent quantitative analysis skills; • Attention to detail and focus on quality; • Ability to work independently, under pressure, demonstrating initiative and flexibility. Languages: • Written and spoken fluency in English; • Another European language would be an asset. Internal contacts: • GAVI Secretariat.
