Senior Manager, Demand Forecasting Duty station: Geneva Purpose of the post: Manage and coordinate the development of strategic demand forecasts; serve as a focal point for GAVI Alliance for internal and external audiences on demand forecasting issues. Key results expected: • Manage the provision of accurate and timely strategic demand forecasts for a selection of GAVI portfolio and future vaccines; • Provide full support to analysis work on demand scenarios and ad-hoc analyses to GAVI Secretariat and other institutions as requested by the Senior Specialist, Demand Forecasting.

Main duties/ Responsibilities: • Ensure that the strategic demand forecasts are provided on time for sign-off twice per following agreed demand forecasting methodology; • Analyse forecast evolution over time, identify trends, and communicate areas of volatility; • Develop and analyse policy scenarios, provide input regarding existing and future GAVI policies which impact on forecasting assumptions; • Liaise with Alliance partners and other subject matter experts to gather input, test assumptions and validate models in order to improve accuracy of GAVI Alliance forecasting; • Communicate on all demand forecasting issues within GAVI Secretariat (ad-hoc and formally) including around financial and other implications of the demand forecasts; • Provide information to liaise with UNICEF Supply Division with regards to supply situation of specific vaccines. • Provide information to relevant suppliers from IFPMA and DCVMN; • Strategic and operation management of the demand forecasting software platform in conjunction with the GAVI IT, PATH and the external supplier; • Other activities as necessary in support of market shaping and vaccine implementation work. Note: The essential functions listed in this section are not limited only to the tasks listed and may include other duties as assigned.   Qualifications: Academic: • Advanced University degree in Sciences, Economics, Development, Business Administration or any related field. Work experience: Minimum 7 years of work experience in the following areas: • Vaccine or pharmaceutical forecasting knowledge; • Strategic planning / market analysis experience in an industrial, consulting and/or academic setting; • Project management experience at country, regional or global level; • Developing countries desirable; • Experience in healthcare related manufacturing industry desirable. Skills/competencies: •
• Design and implementation of forecasting tools and models; • Strategic forecasting in pharmaceuticals/health care (specific experience in vaccines is a plus); • Ability to work in a multicultural environment and establish harmonious working relationships, both within and outside the organization; • Excellent communication and negotiating skills, (planning, finance, distribution, logistics); • Excellent quantitative analysis skills; • Attention to detail and focus on quality; • Ability to work independently, under pressure, demonstrating initiative and flexibility. Languages: • Written and spoken fluency in English; • Another European language would be an asset. Internal contacts: • GAVI Secretariat.
