Manager, Strategic Relationships

The primary responsibility of the Manager, Strategic Relationships is to lead efforts to develop, maintain and strengthen relationships with NGO’s and other partner organizations, resulting in increased support of and participation in ONE’s mission. This position works closely with other members of the team, as well as, colleagues across the entire organization.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and carries out a strategy for maintaining and increasing relationships with key staff and leaders of current NGO partners, leading to increased support of and involvement in advocacy, public events, and other campaign initiatives.
  • Develops and implements systems for recruitment of partner organizations and groups of organizations.
  • Organizes national-in-scope campaigns and events for current and potential partners and members.
  • Develops and implements a plan of regular communication with partners.
  • Collaborates with ONE field staff to develop opportunities for leaders and members of partners to engage in the work and mission of the ONE.
  • Creates systems to assist ONE teams and staff as needed to engage partner organizations and the NGO community effectively.
  • In collaboration with the senior director, sets and achieves goals and objectives related to NGO partner engagement.
  • May supervise interns and directly oversee the activities of volunteers, consultants or vendors.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least four years’ progressive experience, including program management
  • Significant knowledge of the US NGO community, their organization and subsidiary agencies
  • Knowledge of global poverty and health issues as well as development strategies and practices
  • Experience in carrying out issue or political campaigns at a state or national level
  • Superior relational skills in listening, negotiation and collaboration
  • Ability to exercise judgment in developing ways to effectively engage a variety of organizations
  • Possess an entrepreneurial skill to identify and engage opportunities and new courses of action
  • Works well under pressure and within tight deadlines
  • Genuine interest and passion for ONE’s issues and priorities
