Organizational Development Expert, SPICE, Sri Lanka
Project/Proposal Summary:
MSI is seeking long term staff for donor funded project strengthening the capacity of local organizations (civil society and the private sector) to deliver participatory development and strengthen citizen-government interactions around development issues. Gender will be a significant focus. The program will be national in scope but will also have specific regional emphases. The main office will be in Colombo with expected offices in the east and A'pura.
Position Summary:
The Organizational Development Expert will help design and implement a program of organization strengthening for grantees and partners. S/he will supervise a mid-level trainer/facilitator and will oversee subcontractors providing organizational capacity assistance. S/he will work closely with regional office staff to assess and address the capacity building needs of local partners. This will be a full time position based in Colombo.
Responsibilities:
• Tailor organizational capacity assessment tools to accommodate the particular needs of local partners.
• Conduct institutional capacity assessments and develop organizational development plans for grantees/partners.
• Help develop grant components that address capacity building.
• Support civil society and private organizations through short term technical assistance and mentoring/coaching.
• Design, conduct and evaluate training programs.
• Work with the M&E officer to monitoring and analyze progress; adjust capacity building programs as needed.
• Travel to regional offices as well as grantee locations.
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated expertise supporting the capacity development of civil society and/or private sector organizations.
• Fluency in English and one national language required; proficiency in another national language desired.
• Experience working in a range of provinces preferred.
