Introduction

The Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg is looking for Project Managers (up to 3 vacancies) with an advanced degree in law for its Global Knowledge Transfer Projects

The MPIL is a research facility which is part of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science, an independent, non-profit research organization that primarily promotes and supports research at its own institutes. Within the framework of its research activities, the MPIL carries out several "Global Knowledge Transfer Projects" in various Arabic countries (see: www.mpil.de/red/transfer). The MPIL projects focus on capacity-building and academic research in the fields of public international law, comparative constitutional law and the rule of law in transitional situations. Project fellows are engaged in legal research, the organization and conducting of project activities such as workshops, as well as liaising with local project partners.

Fluency in English is required (written and oral).

Further desired experience and required qualifications

  • Profound knowledge of public international law; human rights law and comparative constitutional law;
  • Ability to deliver high-level academic work;
  • Computer literacy skills with standard software;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communicational and intercultural skills;
  • Proven ability to work in a team;
  • Well-organized, flexible, skilled in setting priorities and meeting deadlines, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Arabic language skills desirable.
