Qualifications Officer (Occupational Research) EDUCATION SERVICE COMMISSION

Reports to: Senior Qualification officer (Occupational Standards)

Job purpose:

To participate in the review and updating of assessment and certification Standards for Vocational Qualifications.

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • An Honours’ degree in Education, Statistics, or/ABachelor of Science in any Technical/Vocational discipline including Engineering/Technology from a recognized Institution.
  • Post graduate qualification or training in technical/vocational curriculum development ORTechnical/vocation training pedagogy OR competence based education and Training from a recognized institution.

Working experience in a recognized technical, vocational, education and training institution OR research OR curriculum development OR assessment institution or recognized organization involved in related work is an added advantage.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Participate in research and maintenance of an up-to-date Data Bank on Occupational Standards and the labour markets
  • Participate in research on Occupations Standards and existing labour markets.
  • Participate in the mapping of Occupational Standards;
  • Participate in planning and implementing Training Modules development programmes / initiatives
  • Participate in the maintenance of a reliable data bank on Occupational Standards and existing labour markets;
  • Participate in the Preparation of the Monthly, Quarterly and Annual technical reports for the Section.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the relevant authority
