The School of Engineering & Built Environment wishes to appoint Readers to join the Department of Computer, Communications and Interactive Systems. The Department brings together an exciting blend of skills in the development and application of 21st century electronic technologies and is seeking research engineers and advanced practitioners with priority given to the following disciplines:

• Diagnostic Systems for Remote Condition and Performance Monitoring;
• Intelligent Image and Signal Processing for Information and Sensor Data Fusion;
• Advanced Wireless Networks for Remote Sensing and IP based Multimedia Broadcasting;
• 3D, VR and Augmented Reality systems for complex data interaction and Nextgen Computer Gaming.

This role is to develop and deliver research related activities in SEBE. Applicants will be required to demonstrate leadership in the development of research in Engineering and Built Environment within SEBE, which will include leading and co-coordinating relevant research teams, maintaining a national and international research profile and producing research publications of national/international quality that contribute to the University mission and REF strategy.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant PhD; have strong research reputation and a proven track record in academic leadership. In addition the role holder will also be expected to contribute to a range of UG and PG teaching in areas relevant to discipline and Department. Further essential criteria for this role include experience in supervising Doctoral students and securing funding for cross-disciplinary research projects that contribute directly to the research strategy of the University.
