Overview and Mission

The International Diabetes Federation organizes the biennial World Diabetes Congress, the premier international diabetes congress, attracting 15,000 delegates from more than 160 countries. The next congress will be held in Melbourne in December 2013. The congress unites the global diabetes community, providing an essential forum for the dissemination and promotion of leading scientific advances and knowledge on practical aspects related to diabetes care, education and advocacy.

This post will be located within the Congress department and line managed by the Congress Manager. The post holder will coordinate the registration process of the World Diabetes Congress in order to have efficient registration. The Registration Administrator will join a multinational staff of around 35 at IDF’s Brussels Executive Office and work closely with 7 regional offices, member associations, board members and expert volunteers.

This is a 15 month contract starting on November 1, 2012 and ending on January 31, 2014.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development of the pages of the congress website devoted to online registration;
  • Processes daily incoming group and individual registrations;
  • Monitors trends and statistics;
  • Processes reports;
  • Coordinates on-site registration;
  • Coordinates post-congress activities (handling of post-congress payments and accurate documentation of registration.
