Technical Associate (Tractor Operator) ICRISAT

ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for Technical Associate (Tractor Operator), to be based at Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, India. This is a nationally recruited position.

ICRISAT is a non-profit, apolitical, international organization for science-based agricultural development. Established in 1972, it is an Alliance of centers of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), and supported by more than 48 governments, foundations, and development banks. To reduce poverty, enhance crop productivity and food security and to protect the environment, ICRISAT research focuses on farming systems and crop improvement, management and utilization of sorghum, pearl millet, pigeonpea, chickpea, and groundnut in the semi-arid tropics.

Responsibilities:

• Operate Heavy / Farm Machinery on day-to-day basis, such as Dumpers, Loaders, Disc Harrows, MB ploughs, Rotovators, Ridgers, Inter-cultivators, Fertilizer Applicators, Sprayers (Tractor mounted and self-propelled), Rotary Choppers, Bedshapers, Roller packers, Lawn Mowers, Tractor Trailers etc.
• Attend to daily servicing of machinery, record all information on duty-slip viz., Work done, POL drawals, machinery breakdown report etc.,
• Should have the initiative to attend to minor repairs of equipment in the field.
• Provide timely feedback to the Supervisor on work done / breakdowns, if any.
• Assist the Supervisor in transportation of field inputs as and when necessary.
• Assist the workshop personnel in repair of associated machinery.
• Should show initiative to be available beyond normal working hours / off days, as and when required.
• Assist the Supervisor in seasonal maintenance / calibration of machinery

Competencies:

• SSC and should be able to speak (Telugu, Hindi, and English) & read / write simple English.

Requirements:

• Valid RTA driving license of Tractor / Heavy machinery with 3-4 years of experience in mechanized farm machinery operations
• Age: Below 40 years

General:
The position is for three years, renewable based on the performance of the incumbent and the Institute's continuing need for the position. An attractive compensation is offered for the right candidate.
