Underground Geology Technician AngloGold Ashanti

This open pit and underground operation employs more than 600 people and produces approximately 350,000 oz of gold per annum. Operating on an attractive 8/6 fly-in fly-out roster, Sunrise Dam boasts excellent accommodation and facilities.

We are now seeking a Underground Geology Technician to join our Mine Geology team at Sunrise Dam Gold Mine.

Accountable to the Senior Mining Geologist, this role is to assist the Mining Geologists with wall and face mapping and sampling, core sampling and data management.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Planning of and sampling of underground development walls and faces.
• Mark up and measuring drill core.
• Washing down development walls and mullock heaps in preparation for mapping and inspections.
• Submission of samples to laboratory.
• Production and sampling data entry

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A certificate in Geoscience Field Practices and Mining Geoscience Practices or equivalent.
• Mine site and minerals industry experience.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• A strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork.
