Chevron Upstream Workflow Transformation in Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of UWT Waterflood SA&O Solution Engineer located in Houston, TX.

Overview:

This position is an Upstream Workflow Transformation (UWT) position responsible for solution design and delivery of the UWT Waterflood Surveillance, Analysis and Optimization (SA&O) Solution. The role of the Waterflood SA&O Solution Engineer is to contribute engineering acumen to solution design and development. Practicing Petroleum Engineers from with upstream experienced in waterflood assets are preferred.

The position will require engineering workflow design skills and knowledge of the application of Waterflood SA&O solution technologies in real-world asset environments. The candidate should have a keen interest in expanding skills related not only to waterflood engineering, but also the tools and technologies that support waterflooding operations. The available position is designed as a development opportunity intended to expose a competent PE practitioner to the concept of automated workflows, innovative tools and technologies, and ways to transform and optimize operations.
Position Details: Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Waterflood SA&O Solution Design and Enhancement:
  • Responsible for serving as a liaison between UWT and potential Business Unit adopters to collect requirements and current-state workflows, understand end-user perspectives, and translate those scenarios into solution requirements.
  • Responsible for documenting and developing future-state Waterflood Surveillance, Analysis, and optimization workflows using the developed technologies and part of Phase 3-4 UWT project activities.

    Adoption Assistance:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by contributing knowledge of the developed WF SA&O Solution components to adopting SBUs.
  • Assist adopting BUs with usability of the technology and help with functional designs to fit the solution into adopting asset environments.
  • Upon implementation, serve as the local solution expert for the deployed solution.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other technical disciples (Engineering, Mathematics, Geosciences, Physics)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in upstream waterflood

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or other technical disciples (Engineering, Mathematics, Geosciences, Physics)
  • CSOC regular/supreme certified, CPDEP proficiency
