Brief description: DFID Humanitarian Advisers play a major role in both long term/chronic and acute/rapid onset emergencies, as well as analysis and formulation of policies for country aid strategy.
DFID Humanitarian Advisers play a major role in both long term/chronic and acute/rapid onset emergencies, as well as analysis and formulation of policies for country aid strategy. Humanitarian Advisers also have a key role in building resilience and helping reduce the risks of humanitarian crises including climate change, disasters, food insecurity, violence or conflict; establishing close and constructive relationships and networks with partners in country, regionally, or internationally –dependent on the job; identification, design, commissioning and monitoring implementation and impact of humanitarian projects, programmes and policies (see technical competency framework for detail).
DFID has a range of current, or anticipated, humanitarian vacancies including but not limited to DRC, Pakistan, up to four additional vacancies in locations to be confirmed overseas, and potentially also in DFID’s London HQ office.
Relocation support may be available where successful candidates are required to move home to take up post.
