AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) is the world's third largest gold producer with 20 operations in 10 countries on four continents.   AGA employs over 62,000 people globally.  In Australia, AGA operates the Sunrise Dam Gold Mine and is developing the Tropicana Gold Mine in which it has a 70% interest and is manager.  Independence Group NL holds the remaining 30%.  The Sunrise Dam and Tropicana operations are both situated in WA.

Tropicana represents the most significant Australian gold discovery of the last decade.  The new, large scale open pit gold mining operation will produce 3.45 million ounces over a 10 year mine life (approved project).  Construction began in 2011 and first gold is anticipated in the December quarter of 2013.

We are now seeking an experienced Processing Planner from within AngloGold Ashanti to join our Processing team at the Tropicana Gold Mine.

We are seeking interest from current employees of AngloGold Ashanti globally who would consider a secondment or permanent relocation to Australia for this role. We are looking for the successful applicant to start in March 2013.

Accountable to the Processing Manager, this role is responsible for specifying start times of approved work, sequencing and aligning tasks to efficiently meet business needs. This role is also responsible for ensuring the delivery of requirements for every task is completed at the scheduled time. This role is initially Perth based moving to an 8 days on/6 day off fly-in/fly-out roster from Perth to the Tropicana Gold Mine.

The main tasks of the role include but are not limited to:

• Coordinate contractor and consultant visits to site
• Coordinate hire equipment to site
• Coordinate materials to execute planned tasks
• Resource schedule and update SAP to reflect status
• Participate in Planning brainstorming workshops for medium to long term planning and annual budget planning to suggest areas for improvements in output and reducing costs
• Plan and schedule tasks for the processing plant so that:
• o All work being done follows BPF guide lines
• o Tasks are planned to achieve required outcomes
• o The planning is a week in advance
• o All work planned is combined with the maintenance plan to achieve a combined schedule of planned work for the processing department
• Attend weekly planning and scheduling meeting with the maintenance department
• Create in SAP comprehensive shutdown activity work packages for Processing staff
• Participate in shutdown planning
• Maintain Processing Department Operating Master Schedule

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A working knowledge of Process Control systems and instrumentation;
• Experience with planning and scheduling would be desirable
• 4 years Gold fixed plant operation
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience in using a computer based ERP system, preferably SAP and intermediate skills in MS Office
• Proficient in safety, environmental risk management skills
• A working knowledge of Process Control systems and instrumentation;
• WA C Class Driver's license
