To ensure the University’s upward trajectory, the new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Bruce Dowton, seeks to appoint a Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research who will continue the outstanding work of Professor Jim Piper who will retire mid-2013.

  • An outstanding record of research and research leadership
  • Breadth and depth of experience in leading and managing a complex university portfolio or large research organisation
  • Accomplished networking/partnership building experience, connecting locally and internationally with industry, government and non-government agencies, universities and research organisations
  • A thorough understanding of research funding bodies and research policy in Australia and internationally
  • A strategic, innovative and collaborative approach to commercial and other research enterprise opportunities
