We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced IT Service Delivery professional, who is eager to take on new challenges, to embrace new approaches, innovate and take our IT Service Delivery function to the next level. You will have a real passion for IT service delivery excellence and a proven track record.
The new Head of Operations will be joining the Department for International Development, one of the leading UK Government Departments and widely acknowledged as an influential aid donor. The Head of Operations will be responsible for the delivery of global IT services to over 2,600 users in over 40 countries.
The Head of Operations will manage the;
- IT Service Desk teams in East Kilbride, London and Delhi
- An extensive video conferencing network and events
- High Availability IT Infrastructure (including Disaster Recovery)
- Asset and Global Desktop Management
- Service and Incident Management
- Third party service delivery of global telecommunications
Core qualities sought: Leadership and Management including driving change through motivation and process and procedure improvement
The Head of Operations is responsible for developing a strategic vision for the team and leading and guiding them through significant operational and business changes that will arise as DFID’s operations align to new approaches emerging from the Government ICT Strategy. The post holder will set direction for the Operations team and ensure that service delivery continues to represent good value for money when benchmarked with comparable organisations. There is also an opportunity to join up processes with other areas of the Corporate Performance Group such as HR and Finance.
The post holder also plays a key role in IT Governance and will represent the Operations Team in various forums and project boards. This will require the post holder to have a detailed and thorough understanding of the context that DFID works within when delivering IT systems into technically challenging environments.
