Brief description:
DFID has a number of current, or anticipated, vacancies for Private Sector Development (PSD) advisers in country and international programmes. The majority of these are based overseas or in Scotland.
DFID’s PSD advisers lead and support private sector interventions designed to benefit some of the most vulnerable communities in the developing world. DFID is particularly interested in recruiting advisers with knowledge and experience in fragile states.
DFID has current, or anticipated PSD adviser vacancies in Mozambique,  in our East Kilbride Office in Scotland, in Afghanistan and other posts are likely to arise in the near future.
PSD advisers play a major role in:
  • analysis and the formulation of policies for country aid strategy;
  • establishing close and constructive relationships and private sector networks in country, regionally and internationally;
  • identification, design, commissioning and monitoring the implementation and impact of programmes and policies;
  • working with other Whitehall departments on a broad range of private sector related issues relevant to developing countries.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and experience across the range of PSD technical competences in the selection process, as well as their application in a development context.
