Financial Accounting Apprentice

We are looking to recruit a Financial Accounting Apprentice in our UK office. You will be joining a leading international organisation at a time of growth. This new role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute towards the effective functioning of WaterAid’s Global Finance Team. 

You will primarily be responsible for supporting the UK Finance team, and in particular the accounts payable function. Tasks include the entering of supplier invoices/expense claims onto the accounting system, reconciling supplier invoices per the accounting system to supplier statements, and ensuring invoices are correctly coded and authorised. You will also be responsible for liaising with country programme finance staff to ensure costs are allocated correctly to each office. You will be responsible for preparing bi-weekly cheque and cash donations for banking. The role also involves the raising of sales invoices and liaising with trade debtors to ensure prompt payment, and the reconciliation of bank accounts as part of month end processes.

The role is aimed at an entry-level candidate who is seeking to embark on a career within accounting and finance. The role is also aimed for a candidate who intends to obtain a formal accountancy qualification. Study support will be provided by WaterAid via Kaplan in support of this.
